Arrived late to find sails of 4.5 to 5.3 on the water. Advised that 5.3 was too much so rigged 4.7 with Max-2-Air. First run out and only 50m from shore when a gust lifted me out of the straps and over the front. That set the scene for a gusty, overpowered day that saw Force 10 on the wind gauge. After taking a battering rigged 4.2 with the Rad Wave 69. More comfortable although the gusts were still manic. Then the wind dropped and I was contemplating a swim in and wondering how quickly hypothermia would develop. Waterstarted on a gust and wobbled in. A dark cloud killed the wind and after waiting for it to come back went out on Max-2-Air again. Not enough wind left to plane consistently. Practised tacks and front-to-sail until the cold water became too unpleasant and called it a day.

Rather unsatisfying overall, although my tacks were improving on the Max-2-Air once I remembered to keep the sail back.
